These terms apply when you use Uncle Best (unclebest.app), run by Rotimi Best in Lagos, Nigeria. By using the site you agree to them. If you are under 18, please read them with a parent or guardian.

1. Using Uncle Best

Uncle Best is free to use for learning to type. Please use it fairly: don't try to break, overload or misuse the site, don't access other people's accounts, and don't use bots, scripts or other tools to type for you.

2. Your account

You only need an account (Google sign-in) to join typing challenges. Use your own Google account, one account per person, and keep it secure. We may suspend accounts that break these terms.

3. Typing challenges and prizes

• Each challenge shows its own rules on the Challenge screen: the passage, when it opens and closes, the accuracy needed to rank, how the winner is decided, and any prize. Those rules are part of these terms.
• Every run is one minute. Your best ranked run counts. Ties go to whoever reached the score first.
• Runs are checked by our server. We may reject or remove runs that look automated, assisted, copied or otherwise unfair, and disqualify the account.
• Before a prize is paid, the winner must confirm their identity and repeat a similar score on a short video call. If they can't or won't, the prize may go to the next eligible player or not be awarded.
• Prizes are paid as described with the challenge, usually within 14 days of verification. Prizes can't be exchanged or transferred, and any taxes on a prize are the winner's responsibility.
• Challenges are for players aged 13 and over; players under 18 need a parent or guardian's permission to accept a prize, which may be paid to the parent or guardian.
• We may change, pause, extend or cancel a challenge if something goes wrong (for example a technical fault or widespread cheating). Our decision on results is final.

4. Content

The Uncle Best name, character, lessons, games and site design belong to Rotimi Best. Some 3D models are by Quaternius and released under the CC0 licence. You may share links and screenshots of the app, but not copy or resell the app itself.

5. No guarantees

We work hard to keep Uncle Best running and accurate, but it is provided "as is". We can't promise it will always be available or free of errors, or that you will reach a particular typing speed.

6. Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or unexpected losses from using Uncle Best, and our total liability to you is limited to the value of any prize you won and were not paid. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have by law that can't be limited.

7. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and how we use it.

8. Changes and law

We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version, and continuing to use the site means you accept the update. These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and disputes go to the courts of Lagos State.
